Several governing specifications exist for a wide variety of industrial steel flanges, and each have their own suitability for our customers’ applications. Here at United Oilfield, our most popular product lines include ASME/ANSI flanges, API flanges, AWWA flanges, and DIN flanges. Let’s dive a bit deeper below.
ANSI/ASME
The current ANSI / ASME flange specifications of B16.5 and B16.47 trace their roots to the old B16.1 specification from decades past, which consisted primarily of cast iron.
DIN
The subset flanges under the DIN standard consist of the same style of flanges in the United States, including the most commonly used slip on flanges, weld neck, flanges, and blind flanges.
API
The API 6A specification is a standard developed for the American Petroleum Institute and shares many characteristics with ASME flanges. They are similar in dimensions, but their minimum design requirements for working pressure begin in the class 2000.
JIS
Japan Industrial Standard is yet another option for metric sizes. Provided in JIS5K, JIS10K, JIS15K, and JISK20K pressure classes, we can offer Slip On, Blind, and Weld Neck varieties in Raised Face or Flat Face configurations.
AWWA
The American Water Works Association specification C207 provides flanges mostly of the plate variety and for use in low pressure and low temperature applications.
Boiler Code Flanges
We continue to offer replacements for legacy systems or new applications that don’t require B16.47 or AWWA flanges. Note that the Blinds are provided “to match” either slip on or weld neck flanges.
